Everett: After 16.Be3 Bb4 white will probably have problems finding safe haven for his king. 16.Bd2 returns the pawn, shores up the N and makes time for castling.

26..Na3! is a nice finish.

Dec-30-08  Vishy but not Anand: < Everett: After 16.Be3 Bb4 white will probably have problems finding safe haven for his king. 16.Bd2 returns the pawn, shores up the N and makes time for castling.>

Nonsense, white doesn't need to castling, he just need to continue to gain space advantage to attack black's king.

16. ....Bb4 can simply be answered by
17. Nd3 Bxc3
18. bxc3 Bxd3
19. cxd3

with big advantage for white!

Jan-03-09  Brown: After the suggested 16.Be3, black will not be worse after 16...Qxb2. After 16.Be3 Bb4 17.Kf2 may be even better for white than the immediate 17.Nd3.

In fact, 16..Qxd4 as played in the game may not be the best move, as 16..Bxc2 causes white some problems.

Sep-30-22  Nerwal: 20. ♕g2 is really strange. Perhaps 20. ♕f2 was played instead , but it still doesn't solve the mystery manoeuver 23. ♖d1 24. ♖d4 25. ♖d1
