Honza Cervenka: 20.Qxb7 quickened the defeat of white, but it was very difficult to find anything satisfactory in that position for such an active player like Larsen. Ljubojevic's play was quite impressive.
Sep-29-13  Ulhumbrus: An alternative to 9 Nfd2 is 9 b3 getting ready for Bb2 before Black attacks the c3 square by 9...Nd5

wwall: Note by Gligoric said that 17.Ne3 was too passive and that 17.Be3 was better. But Black can play 17...Bxd3 and has the better game.

Looks like White took a poison pawn after 20.Qxb7. Better may have been 20.Bd2 Be4 21.Bxe4 Qxe4 and now try 22.Qxb7.

After 21...Nxc1, White cannot play 22.Rxc1 because of 22...Qxe3+ 23.Kh1 Qxc1+ 24.Bf1 Qxf1 mate.

22...Bg4 leave White with no chance on the kingside. Black could also have played 22...Qxb2 23.Nxf5 (23.Qxf5 Ne2+ 24.Kh1 Qxa1+ 25.Bf1 Nd4 26.Qxe5 Rf8) Ne2+ 24.Kh1 Qxa1+ 25.Bf1 Nd4 26.Nxd4 cxd4 for the win.

May-22-16  Howard: This game was played in Round 1, in fact.

Hard to believe, by the way, that Larsen finished dead last by a wide margin !
