Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-30-04  azaris: Not one of Marshall's best efforts. And what was up with 7. cxd3?

At least he could take it as well as dish it out.

Aug-23-13  sfm: "Not one of Marshall's best efforts."
Maybe the worst. A brilliant genius - but here it took one rare holiday.
Aug-23-13  JimNorCal: To be fair, WE Napier was no slouch.
Marshall could take liberties with nearly everyone but Napier did not let him get away with anything on that day.
Aug-23-13  TheFocus: This was game 1 of their first match.

Napier destroyed Marshall 8.5 - 2.5.

Aug-23-13  offramp: Marshall didn't seem to get off the ground. He is 4 pawns down in the final position as well as being mated. After 16.d4 he probably wanted to play Bd3 at some stage, but he never got the chance.
