Apr-01-04  unsound: This ends up like a kind of French defense with no possibility of black freeing himself & putting pressure on d4 with c5.
Apr-01-05  ArturoRivera: this was brutal

An Englishman: Good Evening: Since both of the previous posts are dated April 1, it's tempting to think that the game is spurious. However, after 7...Bf5, Black would have had a good game, in the manner of the Nimzowitsch Defense, 1.e4,Nc6; 2.d4,d5; 3.e5,Bf5.

Phony Benoni: According tot he "American Chess Bulletin" (May / June 1915, p. 116) Marshall played blindfold. The game occurred on January 18, 1915 at the Hamilton Club Chicago.

Our score apparently has a mistake: ACB gives <16...Bxf8> instead of 16...Rxf8. This is surely correct, since the rook capture hangs Black's h-pawn.
