Oct-02-05  SnoopDogg: This game reminds me of Capablanca than Nimzo. Most of Petrosian's early games do.

Yes, Petrosian tends to make chess look easy, like Capablanca did.

In this game Petrosian trades down into a minor piece endgame in which he has a much better pawn structure than his opponent and wins easily because of it.

May-29-09  arsen387: Looks very simple from outside, really reminiscent of Capablanca.

And Petrosian has an impressive +3 =2 -0 against Nezh, according to games in CG database.

May-29-09  tommy boy: Awesome accuracy
Jun-26-10  xombie: Capa and Nimzo were not all that different really, we have seen Nimzo getting zugged by Capa in the Caro.

Of course, Petrosian was a blend of both-his endgames were great, often enabling him to convert minute advantages, as in the Botvinnik king-walk endgame-it seems to be a prerequisite for a positional player to have a good endgame technique.

Aug-25-11  Garech: As mentioned above, very reminiscient of Capablanca - simplfying to a winning endgame and ... winning it with accuracy and ease. Cheers,

-Garech

May-29-12  LoveThatJoker: Nezhmetdinov got smoked here!
