Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-26-05  dac1990: Nicely done by Petrosian. I don't think he was that much of a boring player.
Jan-15-10  elohah: Note to self: 'Play vs. K.I.D.!'

That's right kids! Like Larsen, I'm
just kickin' back thru the stacks
and wacs....hee hee hee!

Jun-03-10  elohah: You don't see the win?? Come on kids, how long have we been doing this? It's not: 68...Kd7 69 b7? Kc7!

It IS: 68...Kd7 69 Be6+! Kd8 (not to the e-file! - 70 b7!) 70 f5! will win Black's QB.

NEXT!

Aug-25-19  King.Arthur.Brazil: Maybe it followed: 68...♔b8 69.♔b4 ♗a6 70.♗c6 ♗b7 71.♗d7 ♗c8 72.♗c6 ♗b7 73.♔b5 d5 74.f5 d4 75.f6 d3 76.f7 d2 77.f8=♕+ ♗c8 78.♕d6#
Feb-16-22  tbontb: Petrosian somewhat uncharacteristically castles Q-side as White in a KI, ostensibly playing for a direct attack. However, when Aronson seeks counterplay with the doubtful 21....b5 (better a6) Petrosian is able to simplify to an ending with extra material, after which the result is never really in doubt.
Feb-16-22  pdor59: Those were the days where USSR championships made most international tournaments look weak!
