Chessical: Schlechter plays cautiously after three decisive games which have left him a point behind Tarrasch in their match. Both players take no risks, the only dangerous point being:

<16... Nxd4?> loses to 17. Bxd4 Rxd4 18. Qxh5 Nxh5 19. Bxh7+ Kxh7 20. Rxd4

For an alternative and more aggressive and somewhat riskier defence to this opening see Schlechter vs Spielmann, 1908 in which Spielmann pushes his Q-side pawns for counter-play.

One of Tarrasch's greatest games occurred as Black against this opening system: Nimzowitsch vs Tarrasch, 1914
