  Chessical: Fairhurst obtains a slight advantage from the opening, but in trying to force <e4> his position deteriorates. Perhaps, working for the initiative on the Q-side would have yielded a better return?

<22.e4 loses the <e> pawn as White then cannot protect it and the <d> pawn. <22.Re2> would have been better with the option of also putting the Rf1 onto the second rank.
