Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-17-08  Brown: I'm guessing that last move was incorrect, since it allows white to play Qf8#.
Aug-18-08  Chessdreamer: 41.Kh1 is a typo for 41.Kg1.
Apr-19-12  Sacrificial King: Agree, how merciful of white to trade mate in one for a handshake.

perfidious: Ribli's eleventh move is stronger than 11.e4, which was played in Bisguier vs Smyslov, 1955 and was met by the alert reaction 11....e5, after which Black soon obtained advantage. Another possibility was 11.Qe2, as tried in Korchnoi vs Yusupov, 1981.

In spring 1984 at Billerica, I played all this against Hal Terrie up to at least 16.Qb5, as I had analysed the line and thought it favourable for White.
