Fusilli: <HHM> lol. You should submit that as a pun for this game. Totally appropriate both as word play and substantially, since Fuchs did blow it.

OhioChessFan: I think there's an obvious difference between having fun with a name and making fun of a name.

Fusilli: <OCF> I think we disagree. The difference is not always that obvious. I would call this one making fun with Fuchs name, while I take it you would call it making fun of his name. I would reserve for the latter category cases where the name is purposefully associated to some bad word or something obscene. That wasn't the case here, where his name is associated with "fuss".

Feb-23-22  jerseybob: <Fusilli: Lucky Spassky! He was cooked.> Slowly simmering maybe, but I don't see an immediate tactical win. The only other game I could find with this exact position was Morais-Narciso, Peao Distante, Portugal 2003 which varied with 23.Bg5 and then 23...f6 24.Be3,g6 25.Nh4,Ne7 26.f4,f5 and white won a sharp game in 54 moves. These 2 players were both rated around 2350.
