Nov-16-03  ughaibu: Surely you'd need to be crazy to choose this line against Tal, even if you happen to be Spassky.

Benzol: Spassky was just totally overwhelmed in this game.
Sep-11-04  Knight13: Spassky is happy about his pawn on the ending. But, OH NO! MY PAWN!
Dec-26-05  lalalala: It was played in the last round of a five minute tournament. Tal was half a point ahead of Spassky at the time, which is why Black didn't play into Sax-Seirawan.
Dec-26-05  netlava: How is it possible to be half a point ahead? In a draw, don't both players get the +0.5?
Dec-26-05  ughaibu: Netlava: The above says "tournament" not match.
Dec-27-05  HannibalSchlecter: it looks like Spassky is in trouble even as early as move 8! Hard to believe even in a 5 min game.
Jan-30-06  szunzein: Spassky should have just played 8-....fxe6 not fearing Ng5
Aug-19-09  WhiteRook48: Tal was really good at blitz
Oct-06-10  abstract: Tal is the God of war in chess...
Oct-10-11  AnalyzeThis: Play the Pirc against Tal? I don't think so!

Not the case at all; this is well-trodden theory, though round about the time this game was played, had begun to recede in popularity in favour of:

Exactly. I am in fact surprised at how far into the game the players stayed in book.
