Aug-01-08  ToTheDeath: DANGER- King in the center!

Nice Winawer smash.

Aug-06-13  TheFocus: According to Taimanov in his <Selected Games>, the remaining moves were 25...Kh4 26.re5 a6 27.Rxd5 b5 28.a5 and a few moves later Black resigned.
Aug-06-13  TheFocus: 26.Re5 in my last post. But you knew that.

profK: In hindsight 14...h5 keeps black in there.
Jul-17-21  Messiah: The PGN is malformed, there are two 1-0 results in it.
Jul-24-21  Caissanist: The French baffles me more than any other opening. The point, I guess, of 8.a4 is to prevent 8..Ba5, followed by castling queenside. Castling queenside in a position like that would never occur to me, but apparently black gets good play either by closing the queenside with ..c4, or by counterattacking on the kingside and leaving the pawns in tension, often picking up a pawn if white tries to open the center.
