  Chessical: Kashdan appeared to like the plan of rapidly playing <f5> in the Kings Indian, e.g.

Taimanov vs Kashdan, 1955 played earlier in the match

but in this particular position Black cannot generate any K-side counter-play. His centre pawns grind to a halt (when he tries to play f4 it does not work) and his K-Bishop is left confined.

Once Taimanov avoids the unnecessary materialism of <10. Bxh6?!> Qh4+ 11. Kd1 Ng3

An alternative plan around <8...c6> avoids a quick knock out but is barren for Black.

Instead, it seems that rather than work for a quick K-side attack only to see White castle Q-side, the most productive plan for Black is a rapid Q-side expansion:
