Aug-24-14  Zugzwangovich: Hard to believe this game hasn't gotten any comments yet! George Henry Mackenzie introduced this wacky line against Bernhard Fleissig at Vienna 1882 (!) and Reshevsky resurrected it vs. Smyslov in the 1945 US-USSR radio match.

Retireborn: <Zugzwangovich> The game is analysed by Tal in Informator - he gives 26.Bxg3 d2 27.Be6+ Kh8 28.f4 Rd8 29.Rad1 Rd3 30.Rf2 as likely to hold the draw, and 25.Bxg3 as even better.

Interestingly, 26.Be6+ is adorned with a N (for novelty) sign - I suppose the line was heavily analysed in Soviet circles in those days.

Aug-28-19  Chesgambit: Mihkail tal http://www.chessmetrics.com/cm/CM2/... ( 1974 #2 psychologist champion tal
Nov-15-19  Straclonoor: <Interestingly, 26.Be6+ is adorned with a N (for novelty) sign - I suppose the line was heavily analysed in Soviet circles in those days.> Stockfisch gives 25.Be6+ as the best, but only for draw.

Jun-10-22  Cheapo by the Dozen: An obvious pun for the game would be "The Lady is a Champ". But actually, the pawns do a lot of the winning, and they're opposed to bishops, so ...

The Laity Is A Champ
