Jul-31-12  Ghuzultyy: 7...Nf6 allows white to put pressure on e5 easily. If black tries b5 as he did here, white plays the manouver Qf3-g3,Nd2-f3 winning either the g7 pawn or e5 pawn. If not, Nd2-c4 wins e5 pawn anyways.

  perfidious: Given Savage's habits, one would imagine he fell into time trouble by the time he played the incisive 24.Rxa6, followed by the quiet 25.Qc5, drawing the net round the hapless black king, whose minions are impotently huddled at a far remove, ready to launch an attack against a monarch daring them to do their worst.

This finish has Sunday puzzle writ large over it.
