  Honza Cervenka: 17...Nxf2 is a nice shot. If 18.Rxe7 (the best), then 18...Rxe7 19.Kxf2 Qf4+ 20.Kg1 Re2 21.Rf1 Qe4 22.Rf3 (22.Rf2 Re1+ leads to the same position as the main line) 22...Qg4 23.Rf2 (23.Rg3 Re1+ 24.Kf2 Qe2#) 23...Re1+ 24.Rf1 Qe2 25.Nd2 Qe3+ 26.Kh1 Qxd2 27.Qa6 Rxf1+ 28.Qxf1 Qxb2

In the final position 20.Kg1 Rxg2+ 21.Kxg2 Re2+ or 20.Kf1 Qxh2 leads to a quick mate.

Sep-25-08  macphearsome: A very nice finish! I am not sure I would have seen the mating pattern without Honza's analysis
May-02-12  shakman: 18.Rxe7 Rxe7
19. Qa5 =
Feb-06-15  SpiritedReposte: The reason Black allowed some awful looking doubled pawns to keep his queen on c7 becomes apparent quickly.
Nov-15-15  zydeco: Tough tournament for Unzicker.
