  tpstar: Powerful play by Black. The Nd3 was a tower and cost White the exchange. 18 ... b5! pried open the Queenside, then 25 ... f5 aired out the Kingside for active defense. If 37. Qd7 Re1 38. Kc2 (38. Qc8+ Rf8) Qh7+ wins, as does 38 ... Rxd1 39. Kxd1 Qxh5+. The game continuation lost another exchange, then Black finished with 46 ... Qxc3! (47. bxc3 R8e2+). The one move I didn't like was 41 ... Rg1+, due to 41 ... Re2! 42. Qxa5 (42. Qxe2? Rg1+) Qf5+ 43. Ka2 Qc2 closing in, or else 41 ... a4 and now 42. f3? Qf5+ & 43 ... Qxf3.

offramp: This is the Weird Al Yankovich Defence.
Feb-15-24  Allderdice83: Most would play 6. Bb5+ here (if they play 4. Ng5 at all). Seems like White gets in trouble early on, then gets a kingside attack, but it falls short. Interestingly, White may have wanted to play Bd4 a move earlier, but if 33. Bd4, then 33 ... Qf5 is possible, as now 34. Bxg7?? d2+ 35. Ka1 Re1+ is mate in one. Hence, 33. Qg4. But Black has everything protected with 34 ... Qh6.
