Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-14-06  Autoreparaturwerkbau: Chess, when it was played with some spirit.
Feb-24-07  sambo: If you didn't have the info at the top, you'd probably guess white was blindfolded. Morphy's play is simply jaw-dropping.
Dec-28-08  YoungEd: Good Lord! Black's play is incredible! To imagine Morphy kept this position (and 4 others!) straight while blindfolded is just amazing.

For what it's worth, I think that White's first real error was 15. g3. The K-side weakening haunted him, and I don't see any real plusses from the move.

Penguincw: Morphy didn't have any spectacular sacrifices in this game, but he did take advantage of errors by white.

keypusher: Black wasn't blindfolded. He was, though, taking on five strong masters at once.
May-31-14  thegoodanarchist: Leave your king uncastled against Morphy?

Not the best strategy

May-31-14  RookFile: White dropped a knight into e6, which looked pretty strong. But Morphy knew that it was "just visiting".
Apr-14-17  0o0o0o0o0: This could be a 'game of the day' called Cry me a Rivirie.
