Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-11-04  TheGreatNN: Anybody know if this is the same "D Jong" who once lost spectacularly as black with 1.e4..e6 2.d4..f5? (Would be on this list too but it's listed as "French".)
Aug-11-04  nikolaas: You clearly mean this game: Koltanowski vs D Jong, 1960. I don't know or it's the same guy, though I don't think so. "De Jong" is one name (I think that's why the poster used an underscore). One can split the name in a first name and then 'De Jong'.
Aug-11-04  Zenchess: If it is, then we've got another pal for NN along with Angermann and MacLeod.
Aug-12-04  nikolaas: <Zenchess> How do you mean?
Aug-12-04  Zenchess: If D Jong is the same guy as the one in the other loss you gave, we could put him in the all-time patzer list with NN and some others.

Poor old NN is always losing minatures to Morphy, Greco, etc. in the database. He's over 400 years old, so I feel sorry for him and am trying to find him company in his old age :) People who are as bad as he is :)

Feb-16-05  schnarre: Nice aggressive play by Black. 2...Bf5 was a sharp line to use.
Mar-26-20  sea7kenp: LQDO? "Loose Queens Drop Off"?
