May-29-06  regulator: what a suffocating attack by black
Apr-09-09  Autoreparaturwerkbau: Yep, indeed it is!

FSR: I've been trying for some time to come up with a good Dragon pun ("Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and such), but hadn't thought of this one. Good job!

FSR: And what exactly is an "Old Sicilian" anyway? CG.com's software seems to throw all kinds of things under that heading.

AylerKupp: An old Sicilian is Don Corleone's father. A lot of things are probably buried under that heading.
Jul-17-12  TheaN: This is an Accelerated Dragon. I play this variation on the Dragon more regularly than the main line. Most White players stick to their counterattacking options, which are, to say the least, not good in the Accelerated.

Black also has no real use to play d6 prior to the fiancetto, as e5 is not as dangerous as one would except. The true sting of the Accelerated is Maróczy's Bind with 6.c4, developing the c-pawn in front of the c3-Knight, possible as Black postponed Nf6, attacking e4. It's an interesting take on an already doublesided opening.

Your comment was better than the pun!

Jul-17-12  shakman: Another game with similar line... A Fernandes vs Ulf Andersson, 1990
Jul-17-12  kevin86: White is dropped by a Puc! Mate will end it all soon.
Jul-17-12  The HeavenSmile: Lovely double pin after 31.Be3 Bxe3+ 40.Rf2 Qxg2#

Sep-06-12  rapidcitychess: I checked under the live games on the site, using Ctrl+f to search, but couldn't find anything.
Sep-07-12  waustad: Interesting. I tried to just post the following but it won't take one that short:

;-)

Jul-04-19  morfishine: His last name actually is pronounced puck, like a hockey puck

I would've thought it was pronounced puke, which is what white probably did after <28...Re1>
