Jun-02-14  ljfyffe: The Lange above is not of the MaxAttack, but
a Dr. Lange.
Jun-02-14  john barleycorn: < ljfyffe: The Lange above is not of the MaxAttack, but a Dr. Lange.> Right, MaxAttack was dead since 1899.
Jun-05-14  ljfyffe: The MacAttack of Nicholas MacLeod was pretty well finished off in 1899. The Max Lange Attack(MaxAttack) lives on, if I understand barleycorn's meaning correctly. Perhaps, I should have been clearer.
Oct-22-14  ljfyffe: <But helpless pieces of the game he plays Upon the chequer-board of nights and days;
Hither and thither moves, and checks and slays
And one by one back in the closet lays.>
