Kibitzer's Corner
May-04-04  islero: An awkward end, but what if 25 … Kf7

I don't like 25 … Kf7 26 Rxc6 bxc6 27 Bxc6 Kxf6 28 Bxa8 who is better here? Is there a better line after 25...Kf7?

May-04-04  Cyphelium: <islero> On 25.- Kf7, 26. Bd5 looks better than 26. Rxc6. For example 26.- Nb4 27. Bb3 and white is on top.
May-04-04  islero: Thanks Cyphelium, I missed the obvious 26 Bd5, you are right. Now if 26 Bd5 Nb4 27 Bb3 a5 28 Rb6+ wins
It wasn't that hard :-/
Sep-11-05  dc10: Why would black play 11...Bb8. It doesn't make any sense. In doing so he cut off the only other square the queen's rook could move to (at the time) and cut off the bishop's option of going to a5 or b6, which he could have gone to had Hilwani moved 11...Bc7. You will also take note that neither the said bishop or the queen's rook ever moved again.
