Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-09-05  Milo: GotD material, perhaps?
Jan-10-05  Shams: maybe, but I can`t think of a pun.

white has a much easier game after 13...O-O? What is the point of fianchettoing the bishop if you don`t play 13...dxc3 e.p.

Jan-10-05  Milo: I think you're right that it's an improvement, but after 13...dxc3 14.bxc3, white gets control of the half open b-file, and his pieces end up more active than their counterparts.

It's pretty hard to judge, though, I think black should hold.

Say, 14...0-0 15.Ba3 Rd8 16.Rb1 Rb8 and I don't see how white proceeds. Maybe 15.a4 is better, I dunno.

Jan-10-05  slapwa: Is black really losing after 32. ..., Qe6 33. Re6, Bf3 (threat Bh5). Is there better than a perpetual for White?
Jan-10-05  Milo: slapwa: what do you do after 34.Bf4?
Jan-10-05  Shams: I think white then plays Rxe7 and Qxg6.
Jan-10-05  slapwa: Milo you're right.
34 Bf4, Kf7 35 Rf6+ Kg8 36 Bb8 Rb8 and then something like Qh3 should cash in the material.

Honza Cervenka: 35.Re3 would have been pretty final shot. White threatens 36.Rh3+ and if 35...dxe3, then 36.Bc3+ wins. If 35...Re7, then 36.Rh3+ Rh7 37.Qf6+ and white gives a mate in next move.
Jan-13-05  PizzatheHut: <Honza Cervenka> What is the finish after 35...Qh7?
Jan-13-05  Minor Piece Activity: I'm guessing 36. Qxe8+ Qg8 37. Rh3#
Jan-13-05  PizzatheHut: <Minor Piece Activity> Haha, I can't believe I missed that. These late night analyzing sessions aren't such a great idea :)
