Mar-13-05  Mate Hunter: Why is the title "Vladimir Kramnik vs NN"? Black's name is Vsturgeon.
Mar-13-05  Gregor Samsa Mendel: <Sturgeon>, you say? Sounds like A Fish by any other name to me...

chessgames.com: "Vsturgeon" is an ICC handle, therefore this player is effectively anonymous and fits under "NN."
Jul-30-06  babakova: This simul was actually played on Kasparov Chess back in the day. It was on 10 boards and Kramnik said that Vsturgeon while maybe not played the best, put up the most stubborn play of his opponents.
Aug-06-06  VSturgeon: Actually. My name is Victor Sturgeon. I have a few games in chessbase also. I come from Northern Ireland and now live in the US. My highest OTB rating was around 1850. But I rarely find time to play these days. When I played Kramnik on Kasparov.com my rating would have been around 1600. I was also in the middle of a work related conference call. Otherwise I would have played better. I have not used ICC for a long time, now I play on chessbase.com and US Chesslive if I get the chance.
Aug-06-06  VSturgeon: P.S. On my 14th move I had planned to play e5. Which would have been better than what I did play. However is was fun and the highlight of my chess career is that I played the world champion without help and was good enough to be stubborn. :)
