Mar-22-10  Travis Bickle: As a patzer it seems to me that white is better but black finds a way to defend. I remember GM Larry Christiansen saying that Ulf Anderson was a great defender.

  perfidious: In Schlechter's day, drawing nearly half one's games was indeed a high percentage.

By the bye, Carlsen's percentage is actually far higher, when one excludes the exhibition games; the totals reflect only classical play, so his percentage of drawn games in serious is actually just about 45 per cent.
