Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-28-12  DoctorD: Black played .. ♕e5 at the wrong time.

Instead of 9. .. c5, which still doesn't give the game away, 9. .. ♕e5! and White is practically lost ... ♗c5 is looming on the horizon.

After 11. ♗b5+ ♘xb5 is fine, White has compensation, but no more.

Better than White's 14. ♘f3 is 14. c3!, for example 14. ..♖c8 15. cxd4 cxd4+ 16. ♘c3 ♗c5 17. ♘f3 ♕f4+ 18. ♔b1 ♖hd8 19. ♘d5 and White is clearly winning. After White's 14. ♘f3, best is 14. .. ♘xf3, when White has more than enough compensation for the pawn, and is probably winning, but the black king can drop back to c8 and there is still a game to be played.
