FSR: White having already played e3 on move 3, 6.g3 was a strange choice.

keypusher: <FSR> I remember playing white against a 2300 in one of my first tournaments. 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nf3 b6 4.g3 Ba6. Holy hell, was that even legal? I had no suspicion Black could do that. I played 5.e3, knowing it was an awful move, and lost in short order.

It's harder to be completely at sea in an opening in the online age.

Jun-23-23  Granny O Doul: I see keypusher has already commented on this game, which I was reminded of: Korchnoi vs Karpov, 1973
