Kibitzer's Corner
May-31-05  InspiredByMorphy: Black complicated the position by trying to guard the extra pawn with the queen. The queen is practically left out of the game from then on. 9. ...Bg3 looks better. Not that there is need for reniforcement, but if there was black could then play ...g5 and possibly ...h5, ...h4 later.
May-31-05  who: It is interesting that they played the same game after an interum of more than one hundred years.
Dec-23-05  Thustra: 32. Rxg7+ forces mate
Oct-05-07  wolfmaster: Poor MacLeod... had to have 4.h4 named after him.
Jan-28-08  wolfmaster: Maubisson was just a move late.
Jan-28-08  aazqua: This game seems a lot more modern than 1680. It's still crap but it looks like early 1900's crap.
Jul-24-09  just a kid: <Aazqua>I agree.
<Thursta> is also right.32.Rxg7+! forces mate after 32...Kxg7 33.Rg1+<not 33.Qg5+?? Kh7 when the h1-square is covered>33... K anywhere 34.Qh2+ Q anywhere 35.Qxq#
Mar-06-20  JonathanJ: <chessgames.com> Apparently the notation of the move 22.Nfxg3 in the pgn file is causing some error here. This game is 35 moves long, yet only 21 are being displayed.
Mar-06-20  Isilimela: @Chessgames.com

Could you please fix the notation - would be interesting to play the game through to its conclusion.
