Jul-05-11  Llawdogg: Wow! That was quick. Moves ten through nineteen were great.
Aug-17-20  schnarre: ...A powerful assault against White's King position!

fredthebear: White made natural moves but misplayed his knights on the kingside.

The notes by Stockfish 11 mention 13...Nd5 as leading to checkmate but so does Anderssen's 13...Nxe4, meaning both moves can force a win.

13...Nd5: mate-in-5 (20 ply) 14.Ng3 Qh4+ 15.Kg2 Nxe3+ 16.Kg1 Rxg3+ 17.fxg3 Qxg3+ 18.Kh1 Qg2#

Again, that's 13...Nd5, not 13...Nd4.

13...Nxe4: mated-in-6 (19 ply) 14.Bg5 Qxg5 15.Bxf7+ Kxf7 16.Ng3 Qh4+ 17.Kg2 Rxg3+ 18.fxg3 Qxg3+ 19.Kh1 Qh3#

13...Nxe4 is one move longer with best play (White uselessly giving away material) so the computer was obliged to mention the other move.

Adolf Anderssen delivers another smashing finish initiated by the pawn thrust 8...g5 eventually helping to open the g-file to the White king. Stockfish 11 indicates 8...g5 is inferior (White made an inferior response so Black's assault worked); 8...0-0 was best. 8...g5?! deserves the question mark IMHO, painful for ol' FTB to say about the legendary attack artist.

Here is Anderssen's other game with 8...g5?!, the only defender in the database to play so: Molebroek vs Anderssen, 1861
