Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-29-05  yoshi927: Wow, I think black could've won, white is almost totally pinned down.

offramp: I am not so sure. White might play Qh5 and follow up with Re3. Those bishops look a bit scary.
Nov-29-05  KingG: It's disappointing to agree a draw in this position.

offramp: When you are a @#$%head like Kempinski, and you are up against an intellectual King Kong like Vaganian, you agree a draw no matter what the position is.
Nov-29-05  KingG: <offramp> Why are you so harsh on Kempinski? I don't know anything about the guy, and Vaganian probably is a better player, but Kempinski's hardly a patzer. It's not like he's one of these FMs invited just so FIDE can make this a 'world' cup(no need to name names).

offramp: I am sad to say that I don't know much about Kempinski either. However, Rafael Vaganian is definitely an intellectual King Kong and *anyone in the world* - compared to him - the great Vaganian - is a @#$%ing @#$%head. That includes me, AJP Taylor, Stevie Hawking, Andrew Wiles, anyone...

Let's face it. That guy is a blue whale in a sea of intellectual plankton.

Nov-29-05  KingG: <offramp> Perhaps you could fill me in on what makes Vaganian an 'intellectual King Kong', aside from reaching number 3 in the world.
Dec-02-05  itz2000: I think this draw declared too fast... or both sides wanted the 0.5 points?

offramp: White may have thought that he had dropped a pawn with Rfe1. If black plays Qxd4 then he can play Bb4, and he is better off. As I said, I think white is better in the final position.

keithbc: when this game was played, Kempinski was higher rated than Vaganian!!
