  sisyphus: It's a good lesson to see how an opposite-color-bishops ending can be won. Was there any way for Black to hold it after 42 Bxd5?
Mar-29-06  jmi: <sisyphus> No. There is no way for Black to hold it because the 2 pawns are protected by the light-squared bishop. The black king would have to move away from the vulnerable f-pawn at one time (White using the Bishop to force Black to zugzwang once the white King is close to the f-pawn).
