Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-07-21  Cheapo by the Dozen: The only lines in the Yugoslav Attack that look good for Black in the database right now are the ones where White lacks time to both play g4 and to play Bc4 ahead of ... b5. So this game might be theoretically important. Further, it features an interesting sacrificial attack.
Jul-14-21  Brenin: If 23 Rxe7 then Bf4+ wins material. Isn't 39 ... Kf5 better than Kh4?
Jul-14-21  Cheapo by the Dozen: White can get his king to e4 without difficulty. And Black's try of getting his king to g3 to harass f4 was obviously too slow.

The only alternative I see is to attempt a stand in the f7/f8 region. But if he tries that, then White obviously wins after an exchange of pieces, and Black is pretty helpless if he needs to be afraid of letting such an exchange happen.

Jul-14-21  goodevans: <Brenin: If 23 Rxe7 then Bf4+ wins material...>.

I imagine that's what White missed when he played <19.e5> and <20.Bxc5>.

The game would probably have been a lot shorter if he'd played <19.exf5 exf5 20.Nd5> threatening both <21.Nxf6+ Rxf6 22.Bxc5>, winning a piece, and <21.Bg5>, when a trade on f6 would precipitate Black's collapse.

It doesn't look like there's any good way for Black to counter these and other threats.
