Aug-10-06  patzer2: White's play in forcing a passed pawn after the break 36. g5! is instructive. The use of the pin and deflection tactics assure White a winning passed pawn after 40. Bf8! and 41. Rh1!
Aug-14-06  Philidor: Yes, and it's probably the a-pawn that will queen. After 41...♔g5, 42.♖g1+ ♔f5, 43.♖xg6 ♗xf8... (if 43...♔xg6, then after 44.♗xc5, White will queen at b8). Now, White will instead have to clean the table, and queen at a8 or mate with the King and Rook.
