Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-06-06  shr0pshire: Move 18 signifies the end of major theory for this opening. In fact in my opinion 8. ... Nbd7 stars off a 10 moved theoretical combination that liquifies most of the pieces off the board almost into an endgame situation. By move 19 we are in an endgame which I feel that white is superior.

When the queens leave the board white is in a better position with his knight, bishop, and rook, comaapred to white's two rooks.

Since there are so many pawns left on the board, the board is pretty closed off and not a lot for two rooks to do. This is where the flexibility of the minor pieces (bishop and knight) enter in.

The agility and flexibility of the minor pieces allow white to have a favorable endgame.
