Nov-11-06  ArKheiN: The Grünfeld defense rox, it's good to see a top player still using it with success again and again. But I never seen that Bg5 move here, is it a new idea?
Nov-11-06  Eyal: <ArKheiN: But I never seen that Bg5 move here, is it a new idea?> No, but it is relatively rare. The novelty came in Svidler's 11th move - in previous games black played here Bxf3 or h6.
Nov-11-06  Marmot PFL: My 1st impression is that white could play on a while after Rxc7 31.Rc5. He has active rooks, c-file pressure, outside passed pawn and the bishop isn't so good. Maybe at GM level the draw is clear but to me (low expert) it isn't, and there is no risk for white.
Nov-11-06  Marmot PFL: Looking ahead 31.Rc5 is not so good after all. 31...Ra8 32.Rd2 Be7 33.Rxe5 Bb4 and white loses the a pawn as he can't allow Bd6.
