Jan-31-07  capanegra: The Kiel Variation (4…♘b4) is easily refutable with 5.a3, but if White doesn't know it, he can easily fall into a malicious trap (5.♕a4+? - 6.e5?). 6…b5! is the start of a great counter attack which ends in a pretty mate in six after 18…♗xa3+.
Jan-31-07  myschkin: Thx for digging this:

19.Kc3 Bb4+
20.Kb3 Bd2+
21.Ka4 Rb4+ (the key found a lock)
22.Ka5 Nd4

GrahamClayton: This game was played in a correspondence tournament organised by the Swiss Chess Association.

8. ♔d1 was better, freeing the d2-square for the development of the Queenside pieces.

9...♗xc6+ 10. ♔xc2 ♗xb5 11. cxb5, and White has three pieces for the Queen.

13. b4 & 14. ♔b3 might have made the King safer.

Jan-23-14  Karpova: White: Pastor A. Rhode of Schildberg

Black: <Leutnant zur See> (ensign) von Zizewitz of Kiel.
