Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-26-07  gnixon: Such utterly useless black bishops!

After 19...cxb4, black is temporarily ahead 1 pawn in material, but its trapped bishops can't help save the doubled queenside pawns.

32. Rxb5 uses a back rank threat to protect White's en prise queen. The last queenside pawn is mopped up for a kingside pawn majority and a free game.

By 53. g5, black's bishops and king are permanently confined, and white's knight leisurely maneuvers to finish the game.

Anyway, that's how it all looks to my feeble chess mind. I'd be interested in what improvements exist and when the game was lost.

Sep-29-07  PAWNTOEFOUR: i guess i'll be seeing......"can we have a zappa analysis of this position, please?" from now on
Oct-01-07  InspiredByMorphy: If 20. ...bxa4 21.Bxa4 Nfd7 ( or 21. ...Rf8 ) 22.Bc6 ( threatening 22.Bxb7 and 22.Rxa6 upon which both cannot simultaneously be defended. ) . If 22. ...Ra7 for instance then 23.Nc6 is lights out. Obviously black would give up the pawn with 22. ...Rb8 but after 23.Rxa6 white has the positional advantage with some serious pressure mounting on the queenside.
Feb-06-08  ChessCompFan: I love computers because they make no simple mistakes. This is actually a legitimate game.
Feb-26-08  mistreaver: what if 32... Rxd3?i can't see forced refutation
Feb-26-08  rover: maybe just Rxb8+ Bd8 Bb6 Kf8 Rxd8+ Qxd8 Bxd8 Rxd2 Rb6 winning a second pawn on d6.
