Dec-02-07  ArmeniaNL: this is not a good game for levon, but at least is the worst game of inarkiev, when i was watching this game live i thought levon is lost, but.....
Dec-02-07  DUS: In rapid game that might be OK. In case of regular game time control of course it could have been a lost game as you notice.

maybe Rd7!? instead of Rb6 was a better try

Dec-02-07  adair10: <slomarko> <maybe Rd7!? instead of Rb6 was a better try>

In both cases Inarkiev's rook gets exchanges for black's knoght. Was that really necessary? Could he play just 31...Rd2?

Dec-02-07  Eyal: Setting aside Inarkiev's horrible play at the later stages of the game, the opening stage was very interesting and of theoretical value - one of a series of theoretically interesting games in the Moscow variation played so far at the World Cup: J Gustafsson vs M Rodshtein, 2007, Aronian vs J Gustafsson, 2007, J Gustafsson vs Aronian, 2007 (and see http://www.chessvibes.com/?p=1419).
Dec-04-07  s.ahmed: What's wrong with 20...Bxf6? Lousing a minor isn't comparetively precious than give up Q in exchange of two minors?
Dec-04-07  Resignation Trap: <s.ahmed> Giving up a Queen for two minor pieces yields more "cheapo potential" that losing a piece outright. And they don't call Aronian "The Cheap Tactician" for nothing!
Dec-15-07  Resignation Trap: Here's an interesting pose during this game from Inarkiev, right after Aronian's 19...Qd7: http://russiachess.org/images/stori... .
Dec-15-07  argishti: I dont know how aronian pulled this game off, but watever got the job done, was magical.
