Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-14-08  zluria: I think Hou was trying for a brilliancy at one point, with the temporary sacrifice of two pieces and 26. e3!? but it backfired
Jan-14-08  whiteshark: Saving Nc6 by <26...Nb4> looks like a plausible continuation.

Feb-08-08  tranquil simplicity: This is a brilliant game by Harikrishna against a most worthy opponent Prodigy Yifan. There has been alot of talk by many Chess enthusiasts and GM's that 'the Kings Indian Attack-1.Nf3' is a 'junk opening' that offers White very little advantage and that it may even be somewhat suspect thus is never seen at top-GM level. Well..well well.. I wonder where I'd place Pentala Harikrishna and Hou Yifan(who beat GM Nigel Short recently in spectacular fashion) if not at the top GM level(Top 100). Forgive me for I am merely a beginner anyway..there maybe alot that I am missing. However Elite GM Morozevich has played the K.I.A. (1.Nf3) quite a bit at the high level.
Feb-08-08  Riverbeast: Fischer used to play the Kings Indian Attack also.

How bad an opening can it be? White's playing a kings indian up a tempo
