Jul-18-08  GeauxCool: <Ed Trice<

I once thought that your ratings history represented the first in a series of dominoes ready to tumble against pointed questions about your character. But you may be vindicated.

The ratings floor was implemented in the 90's. You mentioned on your player's page that this happened to another player, Pariseau, whose 70's rating exceeds his online rating by a large factor above its floor. You have since deleted that comment. Why? His online history does indeed drop over 200 points, so its easy to imagine that he was even a much stronger player in the 70's.

Player: Pariseau

<Ed Trice> you've been active with Chess since at least the 80's, in OTB, CC, and computer chess, even designing a Master-level chess program for Macintosh called The Sniper (complex?) in 1987. See fixed links:

You are also a man that loves money so much, you will apparently sell us a piece of Martian real estate, but you love Chess even more than that. You gave up your citizenship for Chess, and even gave up good money to gain enlightement from Reshevsky whose annotations against "Pennsylvannia's own <Ed Trice>" appear here on page 17:

< ftp://ajec-echecs.org:45000/CCN/ccnews37.pdf >

How many Martian mountain ranges will you need to sell in order to make up for such sacrifices? Thousands I could very well imagine.

So many of us have the impression that a snake oil salesman has artificially created a verbal chess history, and this must bother you. Don't fret. <Verification> of both your story, and <vindication> of your career path is simple.

<Chess Life Archived Issues> contain the ratings of players before the 1990's. They will also list Pariseau's peak chess rating from the 70's, and an account of your Macintosh software program called The Sniper, listed in one of the issues from 1990 or was it 1991?

Are there any Chess historians that are willing to investigate? If not, then we all need to take <Ed Trice> at his word.

<Ed Trice> I will take you at your word, because I have over fifty reasons to hope that you will be vindicated. But don't sandbag in the World Open. The practice is illegal and you could be kicked out of USCF if the tournament director chooses to report you. He just needs a complaint from someone who loses to you, and a printout of your own intention to sandbag his tournament. Chesskids and their parents' will be keeping an eye out for your performance, I guarantee.

Jul-19-08  MostlyAverageJoe: <Ed Trice: As I have said, once I "took over" the ID, "again", I deliberately tanked the rating to get it U1400 for the purpose of playing in the World Open>

This is what the USCF website has to say about such practices (quoted from http://main.uschess.org/content/vie...), specifically with respect to the lure of high prizes at the World Open.

<<< This leads to occasional "sand-bagging," losing points on purpose to lower your rating artificially in order to play in a weaker level tournament. This is an offense that could get you kicked out of the USCF for life. >>>

Jul-21-08  robmtchl: The USCF wil never kick him out. They need his 60 dollar membership dues too badly.
Jul-24-08  robmtchl: Noticed on WIkipedia that Trice has admitted he no longer holds the patent on Gothic chess and he had them delete refrences to the patent. I guess that he does not want anyone to know they no longer need his permission to to set up the board and play his version of Capablanca chess?
Aug-27-08  robmtchl: When will Trice's real rating be placed on this site? He has never been 2200 according to the USCF. Maybe that's a goofy Gothic rating?
Sep-04-08  RookFile: Ed disappeared when asked if it is unethical to deliberately tank games.
Sep-04-08  ughaibu: I think he went to Mars to chat with Fischer's ghost about a new book.

Sep-05-08  littlefermat: <RookFile: Ed disappeared when asked if it is unethical to deliberately tank games.>

Too bad you didn't disappear when everybody found out about the multiple sock puppet accounts you created to justify your trolling.

Sep-12-08  Ed Trice: If anyone wants to read about Rob Mitchell asking me for $30,000 to bail him out of the $50,000 he owes Titus Keiningham, under the premise that Rob already contactact Bobby Fischer when he obviously lied about it, read the whole story here:

http://gothicchess.blogspot.com/200...

Sep-12-08  Ed Trice: Or, if you want to see the letter Rob Mitchell sent asking for the $30,000 just click this link

I see that Plato, disguised at littlefermat, is back to remind us of his difficulties in reading comprension, associated with information clearly marked in people's profiles.

Oct-29-08  robmtchl: Ed Trice is unable to tell the truth about anything. LOL But he did just lose his court case to Ed Labate for 21.2 million dollars! Now if Burt Rutan decides to sue Trice for using his name in his internet scam to sell land on Mars... where will he hide?
Nov-02-08  AnalyzeThis: Is there information about this case posted somewhere?
Nov-02-08  Ed Trice: That post on the RookHouse blog is so obviously faked. Do you really think the legal system uses an overly-bold font like the one shown on that page? And since when is a DEFENDANT required to travel to the home state of a PLAINTIFF? Every defendant gets the "home court advantage", so to speak.

And, another point: You need to take it to a Federal Court, not some local small court, for any amount over $50,000.

And does anyone really believe a $20 million dollar fee was awarded in absenscia? Such high-profile awards require an appearance.

And Labate only sent a "demand letter" to a P.O. Box my company has not been apart of since 2002. No filing with the court.

Anyone who believes that he "won" anything is rather gullible, to say the least.

Jan-12-09  robmtchl: Have you collected that 21 million you owe to Edward Labate yet? Maybe you should call someones girlfriend and mother again so you can pay to have your leggy blond travel and stroke your ego some more?

Jul-06-09  JonDSouzaEva: Hey Trice - is it true that you were trying to sell copies of "My 61 Memorable Games" at the World Open?
Sep-04-09  AnalyzeThis: <GeauxCool>'s post is really something. I didn't know that.

Domdaniel: <Ed Trice> When you fail to appear, for example in court, you are deemed 'in absentia': Latin for 'absent'. Not, as you wrote, <in absenscia>.

If you're going to make a habit of this, you should learn to spell it.

"The Not There Kid was *Not There*", to quote William Burroughs.

Dec-20-09  micartouse: For some people, it may be more appealing to be perceived as a devious manipulator than just untalented. It at least gives an aura of intelligence mixed with some bad boy vibe.
Feb-24-12  whiteshark: The difference between reckless public officials and fraudulent businessmen? One goes free and the other goes free rich.
