Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-12-09  luzhin: Truly comical. After 19...Qxd6 20.cxd6 neither Black's bishop and rook are entombed and there is no defence to White's doubling rooks on the now opened c-file and winning the immobilized bishop.

perfidious: Black may well have known about the following game, Shirov vs Lautier, 1998, but this line is far from easy to handle, especially against such a sharp tactician as Sammour.

FSR: A tragicomic finish. Would 18...d5 have given Black a playable game?

FSR: To answer my own question: Black was already lost. On 18...d5, 19.cxd6 Qxb6 20.Qg4+ and 21.Rc7 crushes.
