Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-20-09  JonathanJ: they should have played it out
Jun-20-09  Shajmaty: <JonathanJ: they should have played it out> Easy to say... but both players were in time trouble.
Jun-20-09  percyblakeney: Always interesting to see how Radjabov generates counterplay from an initially passive position, even if this never looked as bad as it did against Ivanchuk. After 26. ... Nf4 all black's problems are solved, even if Gelfand manages to block the position and it's drawn even if they had shuffled pieces back and forth a bit longer. Radjabov has done well against Gelfand, especially with black (+3 -0 =4 now, but one loss with white).
Jun-20-09  Marmot PFL: Nowadays moves like 17...Nh5 are well known. but I wonder if this game was the origin - Spassky vs Fischer, 1972
Jun-22-09  Brown: <marmot> Bronstein, Geller, Gligoric... long before '72.
