Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-20-09  benjinathan: Thrilling game!
Aug-20-09  ToTheDeath: Hikaru missed the win.

38...Kd8 should get it done.

Aug-21-09  Don Cossacks: Ljubojevic made a heroic stand against Naka.I respect this man.
Aug-21-09  Nf3em: It was a very good display of tactical maneuver in the middle game for Nakamura and he's winning until he missed that 38... Kd8. The mere fact that d8-square is a dark square and is opposite color of that White's Bishop, 38 ... Kd8 is the winning move! The White's Bishop can't help promote his passed d-pawn whilst Black's Knight will hop from one square to another and probably eliminate remaining pawn at K-side in the process ... I can't imagine how White can defend the Black's 3 connected pawns at K-side ... well, that is chess ... I hope Naka will redeem himself in the next rounds ...
Aug-21-09  returnoftheking: Something strange happened during this game; the arbiters intervened after Ljubo's 40th move, said somethings to him and even Naka. I don't know why. But Nakamura still had to make a move and Ljubo may have been not aware of making the time control so it strikes me as rather odd.
Aug-21-09  juandie1: Nice game, Dutch Lenningrad Variation Strong weapon for Tacticians!!!!!
Aug-21-09  spawn2: GM Joel Benjamin discussed this game in ICC. Naka had several chances of winning the game but made the wrong King move. It should have gone to d8. Anyways, my hats off to both players for dishing out an entertaining game.
