Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-30-10  YouRang: Regarding this game, endgame specialist <Karsten Mueller> writes:

<58...b5! and White is in a deadly zugzwang.

59.Kc1?! After this, things are over straight away.

[59.Kd1! a3 60.Kc1 is better, because now Black does not have a waiting move either. However, the white bishhop remains so ineffectual, that the technical liquidation 60...axb2+ 61.Bxb2 Kxb4 wins. 62.Kd2 Kc4 63.Bc3 b4 64.Bb2 (64.Ba1 Bb3 65.Bb2 Ba4 ) 64...Bb1 65.Ba1 Bd3 66.Bb2 Kb3 67.Bc1 Ka2 (Baburin in Chess Today 3236)]

After <61...Kxb4>, Mueller has white playing 62.Kd2, but I think white puts up much more resistance with <62.Kc2!?> instead [diagram]

The white king basically hangs around a1/a2/b1/b2 and whenever the black K attacks Pe3, white plays ...Bc1.

I think black can still force a win, but it takes a lot of jockeying about to set up just the right position. (Note: the computer evals go crazy, like maybe 10 pawns or more in black's favor, but it doesn't readily find the right approach for black to win).
