Apr-05-10  BobCrisp: Finally realising the incongruity of being 4 pawns down to some unknown who walked in off the street, Capa calls it a day.

MissScarlett: It happened before: Capablanca vs W J Shutes, 1912
Dec-13-15  TheFocus: From a simultaneous exhibition in Dublin, Ireland on December 4, 1919.

Capablanca scored +27=12-1.

Apr-02-22  OrangeTulip: Maybe it is useful to understand that in those days the simultan player by purpose did loose a game. In order to be invited again

fredthebear: Yes, a definite return visit if one didn't mind the voyage. The Mansion House is still going strong! https://www.visitdublin.com/see-do/...
Apr-03-22  Granny O Doul: I can see giving a draw or two where one might have pressed, once one is sure he's not in danger of losing anywhere. But losing on purpose really goes against the grain, especially when it's still possible to lose a couple of games legitimately.
