Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-21-21  jerseybob: If you're an e4 player you're bound to encounter the Winawer French, and 5..cxd4(like 5..Ba5) is one of those odd little sidelines you'd better be ready to handle. Povah passes the test.

  fredthebear: Thanks <jb>. Keep crankin'!

Active game. 29...Qxc6 instead of rook captures would have slowed White down.

Dec-23-21  jerseybob: <fredthebear: Thanks <jb>. Keep crankin'! 29...Qxc6 instead of rook captures would have slowed White down.> I'm gonna crank till I can't crank any more! The engine in this website likes your move, and after 29..Qxc6 30.QxQ, Rxc6 31.g3 suggests 31..Nc1 32.Rd1, but I don't get that move and 32.Kg2 seems better. And, 31..Nd4 seems better for black to keep the knight closer to home.
Dec-23-21  jerseybob: Just noticed something interesting about that last post: the date is listed as Dec.23. But it's still Dec.22 in the eastern U.S. for another half hour. So what time zone is this website synched on?

perfidious: <jerseybob>, GMT; we who live under the rule of EST begin the new day at 1900 Eastern and 2000 EDT. Been going on for some months now.
Dec-23-21  jerseybob: OK, thanks.
