  An Englishman: Good Evening: Maybe a Wednesday or Thursday puzzle. Black's reckless King side attack is pretty typical of the 6...Bd6 Petroff, which is why I played the line often back when my age was in the single digits.

Aug-05-14  ljfyffe: Tim Harding states John T Wylde took part in the Cincinnati Tourney, and was from Hamilton, Ontario. The correspondence tournament lasted into 1885.

and Campbellton before moving onto Ottawa. Correspondence tournaments lasted long enough for players to change locations while participating.
