Sep-25-13  DiscoJew: What a finish! Queen sac to finish the mating net up. Blacks dancing Queen stole my heart in this charming King's Indian.

Of particularly interest was the way McShane played on all sides of the board; Queenside and Central play out of the opening, then switching to the Kingside with moves like 22...Qh4 and 23...f5, opening up lines in the centre, and finally pouring on the attack vs the experienced French Gm with moves like 34...g5! and 35...g4! etc.

The final mating net almost reminds one of the classic young Fischer game, "The Game of the Century" vs Robert Byrne in New York, 1956 (see D Byrne vs Fischer, 1956) though, admittedly not as elegant. I hope you enjoyed this game as I did, reader!

May-01-23  syracrophy: 51… ♕f1+!! What an elegant decoy!
