Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-16-18  zanzibar: I have this game with White resigning after 29...Qxg4+, which seems like a good place to resign.

Where did <CG> get this game from?

Phony Benoni: <Zanzibar> I may have submitted this game while assembling the tournament collection. If so, I have no recollection of the source..

However, the thirty-two move score is identical to that published in the "American Chess Bulletin", March 1916, p. 43.

A quick search found no copies of the score in newspapers, but two reports from the day after the games (Louisville Courier-Journal, Boston Globe") indicates that Hodges won in thirty-three moves. I would take that to mean they saw a score with "33.Resigns".
