Nov-18-12  Nicocobas: I've seen many games where black loses but the last move shown is white's. I would imagine that if white were going to resign, it wouldn't make sense to make one more move. Additionally, if white lost because of time, why make a move after the timer showed 0?

perfidious: <Nicocbas> White may have realised, after making his last move, that his opponent had 44....Qe4+ winning.
Nov-18-12  Shams: <Nicobabas> Doesn't it happen to you somewhat often that you move and then immediately see you are lost? White probably banged out 44.Qb2 and only then spotted 44...Qe4+. Or maybe he saw it first but was playing on out of momentum, which happens too.
Nov-19-12  Nicocobas: <perfidious> and <Shams> I appreciate your answers. I left chess over 30 years ago and returned recently. You guys are good tutors.
